5 Stitches
The task set in Week 2 of hand Embroidery was to produce a series of hand sewn samples, with five of your favourite stitches seperate to the previous.
For this I chose simple stitches as I previously found that although keeping the stitches simple, you can still create intricate, unique and textural patterns - just by alternating/changing the thread you use.
The stitches included; cross stitch, loop stitch, twist stitch, rasied chain stitch and backstitch. These were chosen as they related to the drawings and research throughout my sketchbook - the stitches can create similar marks and lines, depending on the choice of thread.
