Cornely
During this weeks hand embroidery session, we were inducted into the Cornely Machine.
Unlike a normal sewing machine, the Cornely is operated by a handle underneath, which steers the needle to stitch loose, free lines.
I found the Cornely quite easy to use, however I found it quite difficult to create detailed textures - I would definitely use the Cornely in the future if it had a clear link to my sketchbook, but I would possibly use a dissolvable fabric, because when the cornelly chain stitch is layered and repeated it would make a rasied textured surface, which would possibly look effective with hand stitch over.
